May’s finalized data reported the typical value of a home in the neighborhood to be $367,500—down 2.26% over the previous 12 months. For comparison, city-level data pegged home values at $369,000 in Rapid City for the most recent reporting period. That number is expected to float around $383,500 in June.

Northeast Rapid City had 8 new listings and 7 listings that went under contract in May, increasing the area’s total available inventory to 7—up 40.0% from the previous month. Inventory is projected to have further increased in June.

The median listing price for homes in Northeast Rapid City grew 1.3% from April to May, bringing the current median listing price to $392,450. Based on projected data for June, listing prices may continue to grow.

The number of days that homes have been on the market prior to going under contract fell year-over-year.
