He received his degree in Business Finance with a concentration in Real Estate, from East Tennessee State University. Garth served his community for 8 years as a Sullivan County Commissioner, and also is a Past President of Bristol Tennessee Virginia Association of REALTORS. He is currently on the board of directors for the Tennessee/Virginia Regional Multiple Listing Service.
