Year-over-year, Catawba County’s typical home value has risen about 6 percent, while the statewide median in North Carolina is up only about 1 percent, signaling stronger price growth locally. At the same time, homes sold are down more than 11 percent from a year ago, and new listings have fallen over 12 percent, so fewer transactions are supporting those higher prices.

In the latest May 2026 snapshot, the typical home value sits around $344,000 and median list price is close behind, pointing to relatively tight pricing between what sellers ask and what buyers pay. Buyers are seeing more choice with just over 1,100 active listings and 4.4 months of supply, slightly above the state’s 4.3 months and higher than a year ago in Catawba County.

Homes are moving more quickly than they did last year, with median days on market dropping sharply to about 50 days and more than a third of listings going off-market within two weeks.
