I started by purchasing a fixer-upper two-family home in 1989. I completely gutted the building and made it new. I went to the City to receive a variance to convert the attached barn into two more apartments, which I then built. Over the next 10 years, I purchased two more multi-family properties. By 1997, I knew I needed to acquire the correct State documents for tenants and landlords. Other than an attorney, the Board of Realtors was the only source for the correct State documents. I received my Real Estate license in 1998, then my Unrestricted Construction Supervisor's License in 1999, and my Broker's license in 2000. I stayed with the real estate office until 2009. The Housing Crash of 2008 caused it to close. I opened A-1 Realty of MA LLC in 2010 and have been running it since. We have eight other agents in the office who work like a team. All are professionals, and most own and manage multi-family buildings. Check our referrals. We always work in the best interest of our buyers and sellers.

We loved working with Duane. We were looking for years before we finally purchased a house. Duane has been very patient and always had our best interest in mind. We felt like we were more than just clients because he took care of us like we were friends or family. As first time home buyers we knew very little about inspecting a house, but we didn’t worry because Duane would explain in detail what needed work and provided us with options on how to address it. Every time we would tour a place Duane would be honest and very helpful when giving us advice and explaining the condition of the house and what that meant for us as the new homeowners.
