I recently bought my first home in an extremely competitive market, and Steve was beyond helpful! He was never pushy, and was consistently responsive to my many texts. Buying in late 2020 was challenging because of the extreme seller's market, but Steve helped me find the perfect home, and ended up getting my offer accepted despite the fact that the seller had received offers higher than mine. I could not have been happier to have had his knowledge, expertise, and assistance throughout this entire process!

I recently purchased my first house and I can't recommend Steve more. Not only was he responsive, he clearly cared that I made the right decision—even if that meant looking and passing on plenty of houses. Oftentimes when I would arrive at a new house to look at, the first thing Steve would do is point out all of the flaws and his concerns as he was there prior to take a look around. He was never pushy, clearly cared, and ended up finding me an amazing house that I couldn't be happier with. I would definitely recommend Steve to first time home buyers or anyone else who is looking for the perfect fit.

Before i met steven, i was seriously considering living in my parents basement for the rest of my life due to lazy and incompetent real estate agents. After spending about 6 hours with him i realized he's one of the kindest & gentlest men alive on the planet. Not to mention he has the face of an angel. Steven and his team were not only expotentially helpful in the home searching process, but throughout the entire transaction. At one point the seller wanted to back out due to FHA painting requirements that could not be fulfilled. Steven (much like superman) was their to save the day! Mr houghtaling actually went above and beyond to contact the seller personally and make plans to go to home depot to grab supplies and go to the property himself and do the work (which he did)... The deal was saved and the house was closed on the same month... Moral of the story is please do not sell yourself short, Don't settle for anything but the best, call mr. Houghtaling and let him find you that dream

I worked with Steven on renting out an apartment I used to reside in. He was a consumate professional, by far the best person I have ever used to screen a tenant. Steven also went above and beyond and purchased additional items I needed to pass the certificate of occupancy. I didn't realize they had changed the laws on smoke detectors and fire extinguishers, but Steven did and took care of that so I passed the CO. Of course I reimbursed him for the expense. Just a great all around experience working with him.
